Description This silver organic cast ring with barnacle texture is made from recycled sterling silver, making it a sustainable and eco-friendly choice. Its one-of-a-kind design makes it a meaningful and special gift, especially for those who love exploring the beach and rocky shorelines. Inspired by the rugged beauty of my local beach in West Cornwall—where I often walk with my dog, Jess—this ring captures the intricate details of barnacles, creating a beautifully tactile piece that feels just like the real thing. Each ring is hand-carved in wax, with the barnacle texture carefully added before being cast in recycled sterling silver using the ancient lost wax casting method. During this process, the original wax model is lost, ensuring that every ring is completely unique to its wearer. Every ring is hallmarked with Arvor & Mor’s distinctive maker’s mark at the London Assay Office. With its naturally organic shape, the ring varies slightly in width, measuring approximately 9mm at its widest point and weighing around 8-9g. The little ring dish is created by Beccy at BKaha Ceramics in her potting studio in Penryn using Cornish fauna and flora. Born from an egg, you float around for a while as plankton, then you need to decide where to spend the rest of your life. You are fragile and squishy, so you need to build yourself a shell so you don’t get smushed or eaten. You’ll still live in water, at least most of the time, but to keep from drifting all over the place you’ve got to attach to something with a powerful, waterproof glue”.
